Kurzbeschreibung/Zielsetzung

Aims
1. To develop a module to supplement the EORTC QLQ core module, for the assessment of QoL in patients with cancer cachexia.

2. To explore the possible need for parallel development of separate modules for cachexia syndrome, refractory cachexia and secondary cachexia.

Method
The module will be developed according to the EORTC Quality of Life Group guidelines for questionnaire module development[31]. In Phase 1, a list of relevant QoL issues will be generated. In Phase 2, a questionnaire (provisional item list) from the list of selected issues will be created. Phase 3 comprises initial testing of the provisional item list in 6 countries. Each of these phases is described in more detail below.
