Brief description/objective
We present an interactive visuo-haptic tool intended to improve preoperative planning of pelvic and acetabular fractures and finally to optimize postoperative outcome. Based on data extracted from preoperative computed tomography (CT) scans our tool supports virtual fracture reduction. To determine optimal type, size and placement of osteosynthesis implants, common osteosynthesis plates and screws then can be adapted to the virtually reduced pelvis. All preoperatively planned information is transferred to the operating room using a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
