Brief description/objective

There have been cases of COVID-19 related exanthema, with the important differential diagnosis of a virus exanthema other than a drug-related exanthema. This because the COVID-19 related exanthema shows very similar to the symmetric drug-related intertriginous and flexural exanthema (SDRIFE). In patients with a SDRIFE like rash (but on no reported medication), together with fever and a respiratory limitation, especially nowadays one should think of a COVID-19 related exanthema as a likely differential diagnosis. A skin biopsy cannot differentiate between a virus exanthema, a drug-related reaction, or other exanthema associated with an infection.
