Brief description/objective
Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy, or broken heart syndrome, is a recently described acquired form of cardiomyopathy whose pathophysiology is not well understood and particularly affects postmenopausal women.
The exact mechanism is still unclear and large patient studies and registries are lacking. Therefore, we aim to investigate the natural profile of this disease by a large registry study.
We aim to investigate clinical characteristics of Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy involving incidence, risk factors, stress factor analysis, gender differences, comorbidities, cardiovascular complications, treatment strategy as well as outcome (short and long-term follow-up). The data will be acquired from hospital based data system and archives.
