Brief description/objective
Photographs of childern with different angles of squint are shown to non-medical subjects. On some photographs the children wear glasses, on others not. The threshold of detecting strabismus is determined by asking the subjects if they noted something and by measurement of the time of fixation on the eyes using infrared oculography. The hypothesis is that glasses distract and, therefore, may help to mask strabismus.
