Brief description/objective
The aim of the Swiss-CARE registry is a comprehensive collection of clinical data and a follow-up of patients
diagnosed with cardiac amyloidosis. Patients with and without therapy will be included in the registry. This
will allow us to better understand the natural course of the disease and the potential of current and future
therapies to beneficially affect morbidity and mortality in these patients, thereby providing the basis for
optimizing patient care.
A major goal will be to evaluate the role of advance cardiac imaging (e.g. MRI, PET-CT) in determining
disease stage, monitoring the course of the disease and therapeutic efficacy of the available drugs (e.g.
Tafamidis, Patisiran, Vutsiran). Correlation with cardiac imaging will be used to investigate whether a
biomarker for 1) disease staging and/or 2) disease activity exists.
